The Role

We are looking for an exceptional General Manager (GM)/Portfolio Product Manager who will be responsible for managing the profitable growth of a portfolio of mobile products and leading a cross functional team of mobile experts. The GM is a seasoned product leader with strong business acumen, an understanding of subscription products, mobile user acquisition tactics, and the charisma to lead a global team of talented product managers, engineers, designers, and growth experts. You will have unmatched exposure to the company’s leadership team and full P&L ownership for your portfolio, including the autonomy to build and execute on your strategy and vision. 

What You’ll Do

  • Set and execute a strategic vision and business roadmap for your portfolio of mobile products and be accountable for its execution
  • Own the P&L of Appex’s growing health & wellness portfolio 
  • Lead a cross-functional team of product managers, project managers, UX/UI designers, engineers, and growth experts
  • Leverage deep experience and understanding of mobile products and strategy to deliver strong growth and engagement for the portfolio 
  • Partner with M&A to influence portfolio’s expansion 
  • Communicate regularly and frequently in all directions to inform leadership and inspire the team

  • A big thinker: you can look across your portfolio of business and products while building a strategy that helps your team understand what needs to be done and why
  • An owner: you can seamlessly straddle thinking about both the product and the business and are equally comfortable talking about funnel metrics and P&Ls
  • A data expert: you can analyze and understand large data sets and filter out the noise, distilling the complex to be simple. You can use this data to solve problems, identify opportunities, and are capable of inventing and using new metrics in order to learn and make decisions
  • Customer driven: you empathize with customer problems and needs and anchor your work back to solving for the customer

Skills And Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in product management or a GM-type role, ideally in a fast-paced, mobile-first organization
  • Ability to weigh competing priorities, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas, driving to consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
  • Strong ability to collaborate across functions and levels seamlessly juggling the priorities of multiple stakeholders
  • Superior communication skills: you communicate clearly and concisely, including with senior leadership, and can tailor your message to your audience
  • Experience in health & wellness category preferred
