Senior Accounting Manager: General Ledger Process Optimization

You will primarily be responsible for finance systems projects and business process optimization on the General Ledger (GL) team, with special projects as assigned.

You enjoy process optimization and system improvement projects, are a CPA, and have 12-15 years experience in accounting roles in multinational public companies and/or public accounting firms and have extensive knowledge of Oracle Fusion. You have prior experience in the more complex areas of Oracle that the general ledger teams work in such as intercompany, remeasurement, and fixed assets, and you are looking for a role where you can build refined processes in these areas. We'd love for you to have experience in business process optimization, including business process automation, robotic process automation (RPA), and machine learning. Finally, you enjoy interacting with other teammates to educate them on Oracle and ensure projects are delivered timely.

This role will be a member of the General Ledger accounting team at Atlassian which is responsible for running the month end close process including typical general ledger work such as cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany, revaluation, and translation. In this role you will work with various members of the accounting and financial systems teams to prioritize, scope, test and ship optimization projects.

• Collaborate closely with the Finance Systems and GL teams to enhance business process automation, supporting the scalability of accounting operations.
• Gather and document requirements from the GL Team, comprehensively understand process impacts across projects, and formulate testing requirements.
• Conduct and review rigorous testing of new items to guarantee optimal project outcomes.
• Effectively manage projects, ensuring meticulous organization, timely delivery, and requirements are met.
• Provide clear, concise updates to the General Ledger team, maintaining open and transparent communication on a timely basis.
• Proactively address issues and advocate for team needs, ensuring all project goals are achieved.
• Serve as the Oracle Fusion Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the General Ledger and broader Accounting team, providing guidance on system functionality and assisting in troubleshooting issues.
• Manage a small team, overseeing their work, providing constructive feedback, and directing their efforts to ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Other projects as assigned.

• CPA required, some public accounting experience preferred
• 12+ years of work experience required, high growth public company preferred
• Extensive experience with Oracle Fusion required
• Knowledge of Intercompany, Eliminations, FX translation and remeasurement preferred
• Knowledge of Blackline, Concur, Coupa, Jira, Confluence, Google & Microsoft products preferred
• Experience working on business process optimization, automation, RPA and artificial intelligence preferred

To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $159,600 - $212,800
Zone B: $143,600 - $191,500
Zone C: $132,400 - $176,600
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
