Boston-based co acquired by Grubhub for 390M

Grubhub, a Chicago-based food delivery and ordering platform, announced on Wednesday that it has acquired LevelUp, a Boston-based payments and loyalty startup. By acquiring LevelUp for an impressive $390M, Grubhub will be able to process more deliveries as well as go beyond those deliveries and dive into areas like helping eateries manage customer interactions. LevelUp will stay in Boston and operate as its own brand within Grubhub. [TechCrunch]

EzCater goes global, acquiring GoCater

Coming after the business catering company’s $100M series D funding round, ezCater has acquired Paris-based GoCater in an effort to expand globally. As the two catering companies join forces, GoCater will expand and add popular United States restaurants as well as European catering chains overseas. [Business Wire]

Can't stop, won't stop

Boston tech was on a funding roll this week, raising a total of $74M. AI platform provider Cogito raised $37M to scale its employee base and boost software development, according to a TechCrunch report. SessionM, which organizes data to provide customer engagement and advertising tools to companies, also raised a casual $23.8M.

Racking in a $10M Series B round, Madaket Health will use its funding to expand its health solution product further. Finally, Squadle, an AI platform that provides high tech solutions to restaurant partners including McDonalds and Dunkin Brands just raised $3M to expand its team and advance its newest product, Squadle Genius. Quarterly earnings show iRobot's cleaning up in its vertical

Boston robotics startup iRobot, of Roomba cat fame, reported on its quarterly earnings, adding an impressive $500M to the company’s market valuation. Announcing strong growth in sales in Europe and Japan, iRobot isn’t too concerned about the new competitors in the industry and is using Amazon as an essential aspect to its sales strategy. Bullhorn’s newest acquisition

Bullhorn provides solutions and help for staffing and recruiting businesses, employs more than 800 people globally, and just acquired another startup. The company’s latest acquisition is Invenias, a maker of cloud-based software for strategic hiring. The UK-based startup will continue to maintain its own operations, along with its existing customers, albeit with access to Bullhorn’s vast resources and best practices. [Bullhorn]
