San Diego-based Lytx has announced the opening of its new Boston-area office. The 20,000-square-foot office is located in Framingham, Massachusetts — about 20 miles outside of Boston.
With this new office, the company has also stated that it plans to double the size of its Massachusetts team. Right now, there are almost 50 Lytx employees working in Framingham, so doubling the team would bring the headcount closer to 100.
The new office is located at 492 Old Connecticut Path in the Framingham Corporate Center. Employees there have access to various amenities including conference rooms of all sizes, a game room, a cafeteria and a gym.
“Our team based here in the Boston area, which started as a blue-chip financial operations center for the company, has played a critical role in that success,” Lytx CFO and EVP Steve Lifshatz said in a statement. “Now, as Lytx further expands into new markets, we are looking to double the size of our crew here, bringing on sales talent, operations staff and leveraging the area’s experienced software-as-a-service professionals. It has been more than 20 years since Lytx created the first technology in the video telematics space. The opening of our Boston-area office will be a critical catalyst for our next decade of growth.”
Lytx helps trucking and transportation companies by providing fleet management solutions. One of the ways it does this is through video telematics, which use video cameras to show operators where the truckers they manage are.
The new office is a result of the company’s success in this space. Last month Lytx received a large undisclosed investment that brought its valuation to over $2.5 billion. The company also announced a 32 percent increase in new subscription sales.
Over 4,000 organizations with a total of 1.3 million drivers use the company’s services.
