About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements
The Associate General Manager, Simply Recipes & The Spruce Eats, leads and oversees the strategy, daily operations (staffing, production, scheduling, budgets) and general excellence of Simply Recipes and The Spruce Eats. Reporting to the SVP & Associate Group GM, this position works collaboratively with editorial, marketing, and product to develop short- and long-term growth strategies. The Associate General Manager effectively communicates and translates strategy to both upper management and their nine-person editorial team.
Hybrid 3x a week- (New York)
In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.
Remote-
In-office Expectations: This position is fully remote with no in-office requirements, (might require coming into an office 1 or 2x a year)
About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

30% - Oversee editorial calendars and operations. Maintain and manage operational budgets. Drive scale and monetization plans.

20% - Collaborate with shared services, including product, engineering, growth, and audience development. Introduce new ideas for brand innovation and growth as needed.

20% - Monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual traffic & revenue data. Interpret data, synthesize information, and distill it down to communicate and focus on what is most important.

10% - Translate strategic vision for brand growth to editorial team, shared services, and upper management.

10% - Participate in quarterly and annual planning processes. Work with the sales team to create unique value for marketers.

10% - Develop and maintain a collaborative culture.
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
-
Five to ten years experience managing editorial teams for a large, successful media Web property
-
Proven track record of success in leading teams and driving traffic & revenue growth
-
Preference for experience in the food & drink/culinary space
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of the digital media landscape, with a special emphasis on the Food & Drink category

Keen understanding of digital metrics and traffic-driving strategies

Analytical thinker, with the ability to use data to tell stories and find solutions

Leadership skills that command respect and credibility among editorial teams

Passion and ability to lead change

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $135,000.00 - $160,000.00 Remote US: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
