THE ROLE: Associate Merchandise Planner

We're Looking For...

As an Associate Planner – Merchandise Planning, you will participate in the development and execution of the merchandising and planning strategies for a merchandise category(ies) to drive top line sales and bottom-line profitability.  You will work closely with the Sr. Planner – Merchandise Planning and cross-functional partners to ensure the category vision is executed, leveraging data analysis and knowledge of retail trends.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Thinking
    • Collaborate with the Sr. Merchandise Planner to develop and support the execution of the overall merchandise strategy for multiple departments in partnership with the merchandising team.
    • Contribute with strategic direction to inform a financial plan for area of responsibility and participate in in-season OTB discussion in partnership with the financial planner.
    • Participate in establishing strategic initiatives to build assortment strategies that drive sales, profitability, and inventory efficiency.
  • Financial Agility
    • Evaluate the financial performance of merchandise categories against established KPI’s to support merchandise strategies.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to the Merchandise Planning and Buying team, contributing to effective decision-making and the overall success of the merchandise planning strategies.. based on data analysis.
    • Track and evaluate the financial performance of merchandise categories against established KPI’s.
  • Results Driven
    • Organize and prioritize workload for self to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
    • Cultivate innovation through natural curiosity, constantly seeking new ideas
    • Identify and participate in opportunities for process improvement within merchandise planning.
  • Leadership
    • Foster a collaborative culture within the planning team.
    • Actively participate in self-development
    • Mentor peers and Planning Analysts within the planning team.
  • Communication
    • Build and foster effective relationships with Merchandising, Programing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Merchandising strategies to support overall business objectives.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in retail, retail buying or merchandise planning.
  • Basic understanding of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Demonstrated planning and analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, Business Intelligence
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced working environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or another quantitative field preferred
  • E-commerce experience preferred.

Expected Base Salary Range: $58,500 - $63,500

Rue Gilt Groupe is committed to providing Associates with equal pay for equal work and carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to, prior experience, education, certification(s), license(s), skills and expertise, location,  internal equity, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need. Our goal is to support, reward and compensate the entire individual. Depending on role eligibility, your offer may also include bonus/commission, stock options, 401(k) participation, paid time off, medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated.
