Overview
Rapid7 is looking for a highly motivated Business Intelligence Analyst to drive insights and recommendations for key business stakeholders across our functional areas. This role will be accountable for providing accurate, timely and high-impact data solutions and BI products to executive leadership, operating groups and management teams to support data-driven decision making and improve operational efficiency.
About the Team
The Rapid7 Business Intelligence Team serves as the company's analytic center of excellence. The Team works to translate data into actionable insights for senior leadership and business partners, to develop and refine analytical frameworks in response to changing business needs, and to improve cross-functional data-literacy and skill sets across emerging trends in data analytics.
About the Role
The Business Intelligence Analyst role will serve as an expert across Rapid7's key business metrics and the data structures that support them. This role will collaborate with teams across the company to implement and scale a suite of analytical models and BI products. The Analyst will help deliver high-quality accessible data to our Rapid7 stakeholders using our modern data stack and will help enable other Rapid7 analysts to do the same. The Analyst brings a mix of technical experience, business acumen, and an ability to build strong partnerships across different functional areas.
In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with business partners to collect requirements and implement solutions for scalable business intelligence tools and datasets that support both strategic and operational decision-making
  • Develop in-depth understanding of various data sources and business processes to support design, implementation, and enhancement of foundational sources of truth underpinning key business metrics
  • Support maintenance and continuous improvement of a suite of BI products across Tableau and Snowflake to maintain a high quality of data, consistent definition and implementation of key business metrics, and tooling that supports both strategic and operational use-cases
  • Assist with finalizing data models and collating reporting to support quarterly financial reporting on Annualized Run Rate, Bookings, and Customers
  • Assist with ongoing systems and process improvement initiatives to assure efficient data capture, quality and performance of reporting tools


The skills you'll bring include:

  • 3+ years working on business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics teams with a track record of delivering impactful high-quality datasets, analyses, and reporting tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related discipline
  • High proficiency in SQL with demonstrable experience interpreting large datasets according to business logic (experience with dbt a plus)
  • Proven ability to create intuitive and insightful BI products within tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or MSFT Power BI
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, utilizing data to tell a story
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite, Salesforce.com, or similar CRM/ERP system
  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for data, data quality & business analytics
  • Fast learner with an appetite for continued improvement
  • Team spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, and a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
