Summary
Reporting to the VP of Banking Operations, The Deposit Operations and Reconciliation Analyst participates in projects related to process improvement, optimization, and project implementations in support of the Deposit Operations team. This team member is also responsible for meticulously examining transaction records to prepare daily and monthly bank reports and investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies that are complex in nature in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and derive insights from large amounts of data to develop automations and support optimal performance.
- Be meticulous when it comes to testing new processes and preparing documentation and reports.
- Responsible for the analysis, completion, and presentation of monthly board reporting for transactional products and services.
- Meticulously examine transaction records to prepare daily and monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve transactions and discrepancies that are complex in nature in a timely manner.
- Prepare and maintain reports that detail both reconciled and unreconciled differences.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Team to enhance the integrity of the data and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare for audits by implementing and adhering to internal controls and compliance requirements.
- Develop action plans and recommendations based on knowledge acquired researching the competitive marketplace, business processes and other dynamics impacting the supported business units.
- Work with the VP and management team to establish key performance indicators, identify problems and shortfalls, and propose solutions to optimize performance.
- Assists in mapping and flowcharting of operational processes to continually challenge the status quo
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree; focus in Business Analytics or Accounting desired.
- 1 year of data reporting or business analyst experience in either banking or financial industries preferred.
- Advanced skills in Word, Excel (e.g. macros, VBA, pivot tables), PowerPoint and Visio (e.g. flow diagrams). Experience with other database and data reporting software such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL, Power BI, Snowflake etc. a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization.
- Has an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to develop innovative ideas and solutions.
- Very detail oriented and strong analytical skills.
