We are looking for a Lead Content Strategist/UX Writer who is passionate about digital content and the critical role it plays in customer experience. As a member of Humana's Experience Transformation organization, you will be responsible for defining and creating content that ensures people get the information they need to successfully choose and use their plans.
By partnering with leaders from business, research, design, technology, marketing and legal and compliance, you will ensure we get the right information, in the right ways, at the right times to audiences that include consumers, members, providers, employers and agents.

As the Digital Content Strategist/Writer, you will:

  • Create content strategies and direct information hierarchy, content types, voice and tone to ensure content is aligned to established audience and business objectives, research insights, brand voice and tone, legal and compliance requirements, accessibility best practices and digital standards.

  • Collaborate with other UX experts on content organization, navigation, site maps and information architecture 

  • Seek simplicity, distilling complex concepts into clear, concise and contextual content and taxonomies.

  • Create and manage user-centric content for all steps of the digital experience, including headlines, product summaries and comparison, alt text, microcopy, buttons, navigation and error messaging.

  • Develop tools such as content matrices and editorial calendars to track and manage content updates.

  • Regularly audit and inventory online content to identify gaps in quality, compliance, standards and branding.

  • Lead efforts to continuously improve digital content, including partnering to identify research needs, mining user data and insights and conducting competitive assessments.

  • Assist with creation and maintenance of Humana digital content guidelines, standards, tools and processes.

  • Is s problem solver that understands how the digital user experience evolves and actively finds areas for improvement.

  • Is a self-starter who quickly determines the right work to do and finds creative approaches to create engaging content.

  • Seeks simplicity and can distill complex concepts into simple, engaging and actionable copy, according to content and design specs.

  • Presents recommendations in relation to established objectives, insights and principles.

  • Understands and applies accessibility best practices to copy.

  • Forms trusted relationships that lead to influence and partnerships across departments.

  • Is approachable, respectful and collaborative – even in stressful situations

  • Is comfortable in fluid and dynamic situations, such as changing constraints, processes and priorities.

  • Is naturally inquisitive about emerging trends within usability, accessibility, or UX.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism or similar field

  • At least 8 years of content strategy and UX writing experience

  • E-commerce experience

  • Experience creating content strategies, content matrices, and content inventories  

  • Experience writing and optimizing content for a variety of content types, digital channels and secure portals

  • Experience with all facets of digital content publishing and best practices

  • Experience working with varied stakeholder teams including subject matter experts, content reviewers, editors and legal and compliance professionals

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, and able to move between strategic and tactical work

  • Familiar with working in a regulatory environment that requires legal and compliance oversight

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Familiar with content management systems

  • Familiarity with Search Engine Marketing and Optimization strategies.

  • Familiar with collaboration and agile technology, such as Jira, and proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Wellness and/or healthcare and regulated industries

  • Agile product team methods

Work-At-Home Information

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$78,400 - $107,800 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
