At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is not currently considering candidates for this role in California, Seattle, or NYC.

Join our team

At GoDaddy, we are seeking a strategic and exceptional Principal Product Manager-Commerce dedicated to leading direct segment within GoDaddy’s Go-to-Market Solutions (GTMS) product team! You will define the omnichannel product strategy for SMBs purchasing GoDaddy’s Point of Sale, Payments, and Commerce.

You will serve as the voice of the merchant, defining and evangelizing an exceptional strategy that optimizes the evolving needs of SMBs selling across in-person (POS), online, mobile, and social channels! You will translate real-world customer workflows into strategic product opportunities, and actively partner with product teams across Commerce Web, Mobile, POS, and Payments to ensure we are building the right solutions for the right users at the right time.

What you'll get to do...

  • Develop and build the direct segment strategy and roadmap for SMBs in retail, services, and hybrid verticals
  • Champion omnichannel merchant workflows while understanding and detailing end-to-end customer journeys across online stores, in-person retail, mobile selling, scheduling, and payments. Identify key friction points and whitespace opportunities
  • Translate insights into roadmap inputs and develop segment strategy briefs and vertical playbooks that clearly articulate “what to build, for whom, and why.” Influence and align the broader product portfolio by grounding roadmaps in real merchant needs—not internal assumptions
  • Drive product discovery across teams and collaborate with commerce, POS, payments, and partner product teams to initiate and support discovery efforts for strong segment opportunities (e.g., appointment-based checkout, curbside pickup, dedication integrations)
  • Operationalize and improve strategic alignment across Engineering, Design, and GTM to ensure identified merchant priorities are reflected in delivery plans and resourced appropriately
  • Lead segment performance metrics and establish and monitor segment-specific metrics (activation, retention, attach, NPS) to assess strategy efficiency and product-market alignment within merchant cohorts
  • Collaborate across teams to use customer insights for onboarding, support, pricing, packaging, and messaging

Your experience should include...

  • 8+ years of dedicated product management experience, including 3+ years working with SMB retail, commerce, or FinTech platforms—ideally supporting multi-channel and omnichannel merchant operations
  • An exceptional understanding of SMB merchant workflows—e.g, inventory, fulfillment, scheduling, payments, in-store and online commerce tools—and how to translate them into product direction
  • Committed success in segmenting markets, defining vertical strategies, and building roadmaps that connect real-world needs to product delivery while collaborating with multiple teams to influence roadmaps and cross-functional priorities based on validated user needs
  • Dedication to aligning customer insights with product discovery and agile execution, enabling teams to focus on what matters most to SMB growth and happiness
  • Using data, interviews, field feedback, and competitive analysis to deeply understand customer behaviors and craft exceptional and measurable bets

We've got your back...  We offer a range of total rewards that may include paid time off, retirement savings (e.g., 401k, pension schemes), bonus/incentive eligibility, equity grants, participation in our employee stock purchase plan, competitive health benefits, and other family-friendly benefits including parental leave. GoDaddy’s benefits vary based on individual role and location and can be reviewed in more detail during the interview process.

We also embrace our diverse culture and offer a range of Employee Resource Groups (Culture). Have a side hustle? No problem. We love entrepreneurs! Most importantly, come as you are and make your own way.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
