The Director, Trade and ETF Operations will supervise day-to-day operations of Geode advised Mutual Funds, ETFs and CITs and drive the strategic direction of operations from a technology, process development and controls framework perspective. You will partner with internal and external stakeholders, including investment teams and third-party fund administrators to ensure accurate and timely processing of daily activities as well as appropriate prioritization of key initiatives. This role reports to the Head of Trade and ETF Operations.

 

This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, Massachusetts with a weekly in office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive process improvements for operations team with intention of limiting risks and increasing efficiencies
  • Lead and manage the operations teams staffing, support, and development needs to ensure optimal operational performance and capabilities
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of a robust operational control framework focused on effective risk mitigation
  • Partner with internal and external technology teams and actively participate in the prioritization of operational initiatives based on current and future business needs
  • Act as a point of contact and escalation when needed for clients, business partners, investment teams and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Work closely with investment, compliance, risk, performance, and business development teams to enhance transparency, increase risk management capabilities, and to ensure precision in Geode’s data
  • Establish and clearly communicate team goals and priorities, both short term and long term, to stakeholders, other leaders, and team members
  • Manage, oversee, and track all key initiatives for the operations team from planning to delivery
  • Continue to integrate current and new capabilities within Geode's Simcorp Dimension IBOR platform to help implement solutions for Geode's business requirements

Skills You Bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in an investment operations role 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, MBA or CFA preferred
  • Knowledge of operational risk management and internal controls, governance, and oversight processes
  • Motivated team player and leader with exceptional communication skills
  • An experienced people manager, with prior responsibility for performance reviews and staff development plans
  • Results oriented with strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills
