The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is looking for a Diversity Supplier Manager. This position serves an integral role both internally and externally for the Bank. The Diversity Supplier Manager is responsible for creating the strategic direction and executing the tactical aspects of the diversity supplier program. The preferred candidate will build strong internal and external networks. These networks will aid the position's ability to act as a conduit between the Bank's pool of diverse suppliers and the Bank's internal departments. The position will work with organizations to expand the Bank's diverse supplier network, educate supplier on the opportunities at the bank, and help to support and connect the suppliers with community resources. Identify Bank-wide contracting and purchasing opportunities to ensure that diverse businesses have the opportunity to bid competitively. The Diversity Supplier Manager will work closely with procurement management and Bank staff regarding these opportunities.
Data analysis is a large part of this position. This includes the compilation of data, analysis of the Bank's spend and the ability to report the data. This includes compiling and understanding the department's expense budget variances and overall Bank's budget. The manager will complete special projects, analyses and surveys assigned by management.
As part of leadership in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion they will create trainings and programs and give presentations and informational seminars in support of the department's diverse supplier goals. The position will also act as a strong advocate for diverse suppliers seeking to do business with the Bank. The position will also work on system-wide collaboration and projects in support of the Federal Reserve Systems goals.
Stay aware of and review federal, state, and local government legislation and programs, and advise management of their impact on the Federal Reserve. Work on DEI programming and projects in support of the ODEI including the creation of internal and external Supplier Diversity programs and events. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of job-related experience.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in relationship building and strong written and verbal communication skills. A history of collaborative work and networking are prerequisites. Knowledge of Federal Reserve system services, policies, practices, and procedures including, but not limited to, budgeting and supplier diversity programs is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with multiple levels of Reserve Bank management and staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
