SUMMARY

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to support our Spatial Intelligence sales organization as a trusted technical advisor, solution architect, and partner-facing expert for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Maps Platform solutions. The candidate will collaborate with new and existing high-value clients to document and comprehend use case requirements, devising custom solutions which leverage the full capabilities of Sanborn Geospatial and partner solutions. This role is sales-aligned and revenue-focused, operating within a Google Partner / Reseller motion. The Solutions Engineer will work closely with Account Executives, Google partner teams, and customers to drive solution adoption, accelerate deal cycles, and articulate differentiated business value using cloud and geospatial technologies. The ideal candidate understands how to co-sell with Google, position partner-led solutions, and translate technical capabilities into commercial outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Commercial Pre-Sales Support

  • Partner with Account Executives to support the full commercial sales lifecycle: discovery, qualification, solution design, demonstrations, proposals, and technical close.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to commercial and government customers across industries, supporting new logo acquisition, expansion, and upsell opportunities.
  • Align technical solutions to customer business drivers such as revenue growth, operational efficiency, customer experience, and scalability.
  • Sell solutions and provide technical expertise to current customers and new business opportunities.
  • Maintain KPIs, customer forecasting, provide marketing support as our technical SME.

Google Partner & Co-Sell Alignment

  • Support Google Cloud and Google Maps Platform co-sell motions, including joint customer calls, solution workshops, and partner-led demos.
  • Articulate partner value alongside Google—clearly positioning services, IP, and managed offerings in addition to Google technologies.
  • Stay current on Google partner programs, solution playbooks, pricing models, and incentives that impact deal strategy.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform, including:
    • Compute, storage, networking, IAM, and security services
    • Data, analytics, and application services as required by customer use cases
  • Design commercial solutions using Google Maps Platform APIs, including
    • Mapping, routing, geocoding, place intelligence
    • Location-based analytics, visualization, logistics, mobility, and asset intelligence
  • Ensure solutions align with Google best practices while supporting partner differentiation.

Demonstrations & Proofs of Concept

  • Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations that clearly connect technical capabilities to commercial value.
  • Support proofs of concept (POCs) and pilot implementations to validate solutions and accelerate customer decision-making.

Proposals, RFPs & Deal Support

  • Contribute technical content for proposals, SOWs, and RFP/RFI responses in commercial sales motions.
  • Support pricing discussions with technical assumptions, usage drivers, and architectural considerations.
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure feasibility, risk alignment, and smooth transition from pre-sales to implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in customer-facing environments and experience collaborating directly with Google field teams or technology partners.
  • Working knowledge of Google Maps Platform APIs and location-based solution design.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture fundamentals:
    • Compute, storage, networking, security, identity, and API-driven systems
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business and commercial outcomes.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting commercial ISVs, SaaS providers, or enterprise customers.
  • Familiarity with consumption-based pricing models and usage forecasting (especially for Maps and Cloud APIs).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a partner-led or reseller model strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • Google Cloud certifications (Associate or Professional levels).

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

7 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting roles supporting commercial customers.

Salary Range: 110K - 135K annual
