Description:  

STR is hiring a Learning & Development Associate to support and execute key learning initiatives across the organization. This role will be responsible for the logistics, coordination, and administration of training programs, ensuring smooth execution from scheduling and registration to tracking participation and completion. In addition to managing the operational side of L&D, the ideal candidate will have experience in instructional design and be able to contribute to the development of engaging learning materials and programs. The ideal candidate is a proactive learning professional with strong project management skills, a passion for talent development, and the ability to collaborate across teams. 

The individual in this role will report to the Manager, Learning & Development and sits within the Employee Engagement Team within the Human Resources Division. The Employee Engagement team drives initiatives that enhance onboarding, professional growth, employee events, and recognition programs.

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work remote on most days however, you will be required to work onsite in Woburn, MA to facilitate trainings and meetings, therefore you must be within driving distance to our Woburn, MA office. 

What you will do: 

Project & Stakeholder Management 

  • Support key Learning & Development initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business objectives. 
  • Work cross-functionally with HR, business leaders, and external vendors to implement learning solutions. 
  • Support the Learning & Development team in evaluating program effectiveness and making data-driven recommendations for improvement. 

Content Development, Delivery, Facilitation 

  • Support in the creation and curation of engaging learning materials such as presentations, e-learning modules, job aids, and toolkits to support diverse learning needs incorporating best practices in adult learning and instructional design. 
  • Facilitate both virtual and in-person training sessions, fostering interactive and meaningful discussions. 
  • Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop relevant, high-impact training content. 
  • Support self-directed development by curating and recommending relevant learning resources. 

Learning Analytics & Continuous Improvement 

  • Track participation, assess learner feedback, and measure the impact of development programs. 
  • Leverage data insights to refine training content and delivery methods. 
  • Stay current on learning and development trends and innovations, integrating new strategies into program offerings. 

 

You will need: 

  • 2-4 years of experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, HR, or a related field with a strong emphasis on training coordination and program administration. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to manage multiple training programs, logistics, and deadlines. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.  
  • Facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. 
  • Proficiency in instructional design principles and the ability to contribute to the development of training content, materials, and resources. 
  • Experience supporting and delivering learning programs, both in-person and virtually. 
  • Experience using learning management systems (LMS) and digital learning tools is a plus. 
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required by the DoD 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Familiarity with leadership development frameworks and competency modeling. 
  • Experience in a corporate, technical, or defense-related industry is a plus. 
  • Certifications in instructional design, facilitation, or coaching (e.g., ATD, DiSC, Clifton Strengths) are a bonus.
