At Wistia, telling meaningful stories with video is core to everything we do. We use video to tell the story of our products, to support, educate, and inspire our customers, to build our brand, and to communicate internally. Our video content is at the center of our mission to help every business thrive with video.

We're seeking a talented Animator/Motion Graphics Designer to join our creative team at Wistia. As we accelerate our product updates and feature releases, the demand for high-quality video content is increasing rapidly. A dedicated animator will play a crucial role in ensuring that our videos effectively showcase the Wistia product and engage our audience. And, we want to have a little fun along the way.

On the Wistia video team, we brainstorm video ideas and concepts with our own internal skill sets in mind. Today, that doesn’t include animation and motion graphics. We're on the lookout for an animator who dreams big and brainstorms even bigger, envisioning concepts through the lens of animation. We want someone who can help us come up with new video concepts and ideas that were never possible without an in-house animator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create visually stunning product shots and animations to highlight Wistia's features and capabilities in video content.
  • Collaborate closely with the video production team to bring animation and motion graphics into our videos, maintaining high standards of quality and visual appeal.
  • Drive the evolution of our video marketing efforts by incorporating motion design into our internal Wistia design team's workflows, enhancing the visual appeal and engagement of our marketing content.
  • Inform the workflow and processes behind visualizing the Wistia product in our videos, ensuring that animations align with our brand identity and effectively communicate key messages.
  • Maintain animated representations of our product as it evolves, facilitating smooth handoffs of files to external collaborators.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in creating high-quality animations and motion graphics for video content.
  • Strong proficiency in After Effects.
  • Proficiency in Figma for design collaboration and asset creation.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, motion design, and animation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of animation in video content.
  • Bonus skills: Premiere, Cinema 4D, or Blender!

The best candidates will have:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates an ability to bring software interfaces to life through dynamic and engaging animations tailored for marketing purposes.
  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated professional experience in animation, including design, storyboarding, and production
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of delivering animated content on time and within budget constraints
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate visual concepts and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • In-depth knowledge of the creative process, from gathering stakeholder input to transforming ideas into compelling animated content, incorporating feedback, and making informed decisions to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Prior editing experience in Premiere or other video editing software is a plus.
