Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) will participate in the development and execution of the product marketing strategy. They will help craft a hard-hitting competitive strategy and develop a story-oriented approach to our software release go-to-market enablement. This includes the creation of blogs, evergreen content like whitepapers, enablement presentations, competitive battle cards, and more. About You

  • Your favorite subject in school was show and tell, and you were the class’s favorite show and teller. Product marketing requires you to tell compelling stories, and we want someone who can foster infectious enthusiasm.
  • You’re creative but know that real creativity comes from collaboration. We want you to be able to generate unique content, stories, and enablement in your own voice: but you also need to love hearing what others say and synthesize that collision of ideas into something that will drive engagement.
  • You believe trust comes from knowledge and integrity. Our users like us because we know our stuff but also admit that we don’t. You want to prove to them that we’re worthy of that trust by developing innovative thought pieces and fostering insightful dialog with our users.
  • You’re so empathetic you were almost a therapist. We want the voice of our product to resonate with our users and the market. They have a tough job, and your best work comes from understanding that job and compassionately communicating how our products salve that pain.
  • You like to celebrate. We believe we’re the best in the business; that means owning the competition by taking the high road, hitting them where it hurts, and (humbly) basking in the glory of enabling our teams to win.

In this role, you’ll get to...

  • Develop and refine messaging that highlights the unique value of our products and services, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact
  • Create compelling content such as web pages, whitepapers, blog posts, case studies, sales enablement materials, videos, interactive demos, and battle cards that resonate with key personas
  • Drive go-to-market strategies for product launches, ensuring successful adoption through coordinated cross-functional efforts
  • Support the sales and customer success teams by developing targeted training materials, presentations, and competitive intelligence resources
  • Conduct in-depth market and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for differentiation
  • Partner with demand generation and growth marketing to develop campaigns that drive pipeline and revenue growth
  • Work closely with product management to ensure our positioning aligns with customer needs and market trends
  • Represent ThreatConnect at industry events, conferences, and webinars to drive thought leadership and brand awareness

In the first month, we’ll expect you to…

  • Complete onboarding and become familiar with ThreatConnect’s products, value proposition, and key personas
  • Meet with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and how product marketing can support them
  • Review existing messaging, sales materials, and content to identify gaps and opportunities

At 3 months we’ll expect you to…

  • Take ownership of release messaging for at least one product, ensuring alignment across internal and external communications
  • Support a product launch by crafting go-to-market materials, sales enablement content, and customer-facing assets
  • Begin developing competitive intelligence insights and battle cards to strengthen our market positioning
  • Actively contribute to content creation, including blog posts, sales decks, and product positioning guides

At 6 months we’ll expect you to…

  • Lead cross-functional go-to-market efforts beyond features and into use cases and stories
  • Implement data-driven strategies to measure and optimize product marketing effectiveness
  • Collaborate with customer success to create compelling customer stories and case studies
  • Own and optimize both competitive intelligence and win-loss programs

At 12 months we’ll expect you to…

  • Be a recognized expert on our products and market, driving thought leadership internally and externally
  • Continuously refine and evolve our messaging to maintain competitive differentiation
  • Own and optimize multiple core components of the product marketing function, including competitive intelligence,win-loss programs,  launch strategy, and content development
  • Deliver measurable impact through improved sales enablement, content performance, and campaign effectiveness

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity technical product marketing, including experience with threat intelligence products or products sold to security operations
  • Strong understanding of B2B SaaS marketing, go-to-market strategies, and competitive positioning
  • Exceptional storytelling abilities with a proven track record of crafting compelling messaging
  • Experience developing sales enablement materials, content marketing assets, and product positioning frameworks
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent collaboration skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Comfort with data and analytics to measure effectiveness and inform decisions
  • Experience working with sales and business development teams to drive product adoption
  • Public speaking or webinar presentation experience
  • Proficiency with marketing tools such as Salesforce, Mediafly, Navattic, or similar platforms

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
