About the job
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our Digital Twins product. Your impact will be felt as you understand client needs, the industry, and market dynamics, driving innovative solutions. You will be responsible for building technology platforms, pipelines, and databases, collaborating with the team on experiments, testing hypotheses, and creating demos to showcase progress. Your contributions will be vital in running visualisations to track metrics and maintaining extensive project documentation, ensuring the success of the initiative.
Fitting seamlessly into our wider team, you will thrive in a dynamic “skunk-works” environment, continuously expanding your knowledge and exploring new technologies. Your ability to seek out and integrate new tools, software, algorithms, and libraries will optimize processes and drive the project forward. Coding expertise is essential in this collaborative and impactful role.
Job Goals

Understand and contribute to the development of the Digital Twins product.

Identify and address client needs, industry trends, and market dynamics to drive innovative solutions.

Collaborate with the team to build technology platforms, pipelines, and databases, ensuring high-quality code is produced.

Conduct experiments, test hypotheses, and create demos to showcase progress and achievements.

Explore and integrate new tools, software, algorithms, and libraries to optimize processes and advance the project.
Ideal Skills & Capabilities
-
Proficiency in building and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and ETL processes in a production environment.

Expertise in cloud architecture and production web-based applications, with a focus on ML operations (e.g., Python, SQL).

Strong understanding of professional software engineering practices and the software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Experience in cloud development, particularly on Azure/Fabric; familiarity with AWS and other cloud platforms is also beneficial.

An eagerness to learn and master new technologies and techniques, demonstrating a proactive and self-driven approach.
