We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Director - Technology Business Partner to join our Mimecast team.  This role will serve as a liaison between technology and business units, ensuring that our technology initiatives align with business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a collaborative mindset, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Business Alignment: 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to leverage technology for business process improvements and operational efficiencies. 

  • Partner with business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and technology requirements. 

Process Leadership: 

  • Implement and manage best-in-class quote to cash processes with specific application to SaaS businesses including Revenue Recognition, Invoicing, Taxes and Cash Collection & Application 

  • Improve and enhance existing procure to pay processes that include vendor onboarding, procurement, vendor management and payment 

  • Update functions and processes in Human Resources - employee and contractor management and reporting 

  • Develop improved Business Analysis process and key functional deliverables that improve time to deliver for the business 

Technology Execution: 

  • Lead business and key stakeholders on proper prioritization of deliverables to ensure timeliness and completeness on delivery of work through effective Salesforce and NetSuite execution. 

  • Create, manage, and optimize the product backlog to maximize value in new projects while maintaining business-as-usual (BAU) items. 

  • Operate with IT General Controls and SOX compliance. 

Stakeholder Management: 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Internal IT and various business units, including Finance, HR, Legal, among others, facilitating alignment among cross-functional stakeholders on proposed solutions.  

Facilitate effective communication between IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, prioritization, and timelines. 

Work closely with key business partners to identify opportunities for technological enhancements. 

Build strong relationships with external vendors and partners to support strategic technology initiatives. 

People Management: 

Lead and mentor a diverse team of business analysts, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration. 

Establish clear performance metrics and conduct regular performance reviews to support team development. 

Promote a culture of accountability, encouraging team members to take ownership of their projects and responsibilities. 

Project Management: 

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver technology solutions that meet business objectives and timelines. 

  • Monitor project progress, manage, and mitigate risks to ensure successful implementation. 

Vendor Management: 

  • Evaluate and select external vendors, partners, and service providers to support IT initiatives. 

  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and performance to ensure quality of services and value. 

Change Management: 

  • Facilitate change management processes to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies within the organization. 

  • Ensure enablement and support are available as needed to help facilitate adoption of changes implemented.  

Technology Innovation: 

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends relevant to the industry and business needs. 

  • Propose innovative solutions to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities. 

Collaboration: 

Facilitate effective communication between IT and business stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and timelines. 

Work closely with finance, security, legal, and HR teams to identify opportunities for technological enhancements. 

Build strong relationships with external vendors and partners to support strategic technology initiatives. 

  

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is preferred. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in technology management, with a focus on business analysis, project management, and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Salesforce and NetSuite and other financial systems. Proven experience in managing SaaS platforms. Experience in using Excel to work with data in support of developing business cases or discussions with the business 

  • Leadership Skills: Strong track record of developing teams and managing cross-functional relationships effectively. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
