About the Team / Role 

The primary role of the ​Senior Executive Communications Specialist
at WEX is to collaborate with assigned executive(s) to develop and execute timely, accurate, and engaging communication campaigns tailored to both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate should establish themselves as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring all communications are consistent, relevant, and impactful.

How you'll make an impact

  • Partner with assigned WEX executive(s) - including primarily the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer – to develop and execute internal and external communications plans that build credibility and drive awareness. This includes internal communications, keynote presentations and speech writing, thought leadership, and social media content.

  • Position WEX and assigned WEX executive(s) as a thought leader in the industry, collaborating with the assigned executive(s) to craft and amplify their thought leadership platforms.

  • Design and execute innovative and audience-centric ways to deliver engaging content through a mix of internal and external communications channels (i.e., web/social, email, intranet posts, videos, articles, keynote presentations, events, media interviews, etc.) and apply measurement to demonstrate the impact of the programming.

  • Craft creative and informative messaging approaches that reflect the various voices/personas within the organization.

  • Streamline content from multiple channels into digestible, easy-to-understand narratives for audiences that keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

  • Manage internal communications projects from ideation to execution that support executive priorities, culture-building efforts and celebrations, and updates on the company’s strategic plan and employee engagement survey results. 

  • Foster and maintain relationships with leaders across the business.

  • Ensure strategic and executional imperatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.

  • Track measurements to ensure the effectiveness of all internal communications and appropriate ROI.

  • Provide input into the communications calendar, accommodating both proactive and reactive content.

  • Collaborate with the PR and Marketing teams to synergize marketing and communication plans and programs that meet business needs and drive stakeholder understanding of corporate strategy, objectives, and goals.

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate communications, with expertise in crafting communications for both internal and external audiences, and experience in content and digital channel development.

  • Proven ability to proactively partner with key stakeholders to ensure timely and relevant communications.

  • Confidence to attend and deliver recommendations in executive-level stakeholder meetings and to capture/execute communications-related content.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Journalistic ability to source stories from executives and employees.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work effectively with communications stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across various stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with technology, particularly digital, social, and graphics/video communication tools.

  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance communication approaches, streamline content creation, and improve engagement.

  • Ability to work across business lines and meet unique needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines while delivering content quickly, efficiently, and accurately.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
