Position Overview:
The Legal Operations part of this role will focus on legal department operations and efficiency, including processes for interacting with internal and external clients. Processes will be improved and implemented. The person in this role is a data-driven strategic partner to the Chief Legal Officer who will help design a strategic roadmap that addresses process changes, technology adoption, and internal/external collaboration. They will develop playbooks and processes, generate reports, and implement data-driven strategies to control costs, forecast resource and budget needs, and monitor internal and external resource performance.
The Senior Paralegal part of this role assists the Chief Legal Officer in all aspects of transactional support, general corporate governance and compliance, general corporate housekeeping, pharmacy licensure, employment legal matters, initial escalation point for the contracts team, document drafting and review (SOPs, Work Instructions, Policies & Procedures), document management, and other special projects, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and ensure smooth day-to-day operations of business-critical workflows, developing specifications/guidelines and resolving escalations.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives to create/change operational workflows to support operations and company growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, business development, quality, regulatory, IT, finance, and other business functions.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve processes.
- Support the contract management teams' contract lifecycle management process.
- Create and enforce processes and policies to manage outside counsel usage and spending.
- Maintain and file corporate records, including documents related to the formation and dissolution of various corporate entities, foreign qualifications, international filings, resolutions, board of director changes, annual reports, etc.
- Perform legal research.
- Coordinate transaction-related tasks with lawyers, clients, advisors, and other parties.
- Communicate regularly with the Chief Legal Officer regarding the status of tasks and issues relating to assignments.
- Support secretary of the Board of Director activities.
- Maintain the intellectual property portfolio.
- Develop and draft corporate policies and templates.
- Develop and draft contract templates.
- Provide contract support as the initial escalation point for the contract management team.
- Support legal employment matters.
- Other projects, as required.
Education:
- BA or BS from an accredited college or university required
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in a corporate legal department and law firm/office.
- 3+ years of experience with legal project operations and management in-house or at a law firm (or this could be 2+ years of experience in contracts, contracts administration, or legal operations).
- Prior experience developing playbooks, forms, processes, and policies.

- Highly organized and flexible with a proven track record of collaborating cross-functionally across multiple teams and stakeholders to set objectives and produce meaningful results.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with all of the following and with extensive experience in at least one area: corporate financing transactions, M&A, private equity, and new venture formation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be a part of a team under tight deadlines.
