With Klaviyo's explosive growth, we are looking for a software engineer to help build Klaviyo's future as a platform for developers. For this, Klaviyo needs to build a robust set of tools giving developers and partners the functionality to extend the Klaviyo ecosystem by building new integrations and applications.
Klaviyo operates a real-time data platform built for massive scale on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Engineers come to Klaviyo with experience in a variety of languages and from a number of disciplines. Our development community is incredibly diverse, so an effective member of this team needs to be comfortable working with any modern programming language across various platforms and environments.
Technologies we use (not exhaustive):

• Python, Java, Node, Typescript, PHP, Ruby
• Django, React, RabbitMQ, Celery, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, GRPC/Protobufs
• Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, Aurora, etc.), Clickhouse, Zookeeper, Pulsar, Terraform, OpenAPI, Swagger CodeGen, Jenkins, Travis and other modern DevOps tools, Kubernetes

Responsibilities
We at Klaviyo are dedicated to developing the best-in-class experience for developers. As a member of the DevX team, you will play a key role in building and managing Klaviyo's developer-facing tooling for external developers. This includes API Analytics, Logs & Alerting, API usage anomaly detection, tooling for Migrating to new versions of APIs, reference code/apps, SDKs, CLIs, APIs & Sandbox Infrastructure/Accounts. You will continue to build on the foundation of the developer experience at Klaviyo, working on both existing tools and creating new product features. This role offers the opportunity to make a major impact on the direction and priorities of the team.
Required Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in a software engineering discipline
• Experience with full stack application development
• Proficient in Python and PHP
• Experience building and working with SDKs
• Experience working with both monolithic and microservices architectures
• Experience with building distributed, high scale systems including operational experience in maintaining high availability for these systems. DevXs' systems handle billions of API calls per day.
• Good understanding of REST APIs. Knowledge of GraphQL is a plus
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Skills

• API design & External Developer Experience (in particular experience with deprecating old APIs in favor of new APIs and tooling around the process)
• Experience building auto-generated code and documentation (OpenAPISpec, Swagger-codegen)
• Experience building client-facing, secure, performant APIs
• Experience working on developer experience related products
• Experience with building and managing SDKs, CLIs and reference apps
• Experience building libraries and tools for external/3rd party developers

The pay range for this role is listed below. Sales roles are also eligible for variable compensation and hourly non-exempt roles are eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law. Base Pay Range For US Locations:
$123,200 - $184,800 USD
