KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual will be responsible for the following areas for North American Consumer and Technology Verticals:

  • Relationship Management
    • Maintain Affinity CRM (entry of interactions, pipelines & trackers, reporting)
    • Leverage Bain Capital network and tools to find warm introductions to targets
    • Own map of banker network/intermediaries and work directly with coverage officers to coordinate on conferences and guide inbound investment opportunities
    • Track executive movements via LinkedIn, Expert Networks and other sources
    • Maintain advisor/river guides database in collaboration with Talent team
    • Assist with trip planning/meeting optimization/investor conference coordination
  • Pipeline / Deal Database
    • Maintain target pipeline for vertical
    • Participate in vertical meetings to update changes and track next steps
    • Ensure meeting/target follow-up activity completed
    • Monitor and track competitive deal activity/sponsor portfolios
    • Assist in screening target companies (first looks, data gathering, ad hoc analysis)
    • Collaborate and share best practices across business units (pipeline, networks, tools)
  • Marketing Support and Event Logistics
    • Update and own Global PE Marketing Compendium
    • Create and capture vertical specific pitch decks, update vertical microsites
    • Help plan/host executive events for vertical (logistics, implementation, attendee management)
    • Provide on-site event support for conferences and executive events
  • Technology and Data
    • Work with Research Services, Data Science and IT teams to identify new tools and data to help with sourcing angles
    • Help to train and implement new systems and tools across PE group

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfort with engaging a broad group of internal and external stakeholders, executive presence 
  • Superior communication, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter with strong project management and follow-through skills
  • Detail-oriented, conscientious and energetic professional with ability to think creatively and independently
  • Familiarity with finance/private equity space
  • Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Prior experience with CRM tool and private company origination platforms (e.g., Pitchbook, Grata) preferred
  • Interest and experience in AI use cases for business

DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in business development or sales operations preferred
  • Four-year college degree with a strong academic background
  • Experience at a software company would be a plus
