DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Boston Red Sox Marketing Department is focused on supporting ticket sales and organizational initiatives through digital advertising, email marketing, promotions, and social media channels for the organization. We showcase both on-field and off-the-field products including player marketing, online game coverage, broadcast support, and outbound ticket sales messaging, all to encourage fan growth.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Red Sox are looking to add a bilingual creative to join our social media team on a seasonal basis. The in-game Spanish social media producer will support game-day digital needs for the organization, as well as support ongoing Spanish-language projects for the organization. Specifically, the role requires in-game live-coverage. This includes posting highlights on X, Instagram, and Facebook, showcasing our Latin players and the vibrant communities and people that visit Fenway Park, and working to connect with Spanish-speaking fans around the globe. The person in this role will also sit in on content meetings to assist in the development on Spanish-first content, as well as have the opportunity to collaborate on other marketing projects, such as digital and broadcast/radio. This role is extremely collaborative and will include real-time coverage of home and away games.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with club social team and MLB Spanish social team to coordinate live coverage of all games including X, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Translation of graphics, copy, and other digital assets.
  • Assist with in-game social media responsibilities for home & away games.
  • Oversee 1:1 fan engagement across Spanish social platforms.
  • Edit and share game recap content across all club Spanish social media.
  • Assist with tracking and reporting on account growth and overall performance.
  • Assist managing Spanish social calendar.
  • Work with club social, creative, photo, and video productions team identify opportunities for/to develop Spanish first content.

CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) to qualify.
  • Required fluency (speak and write) in Spanish.
  • A deep understanding of all major social platforms and trends including X, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Excellent writing skills; A strong handle of grammar, punctuation, syntax, and social voice.
  • Keen editorial sense and significant attention to detail.
  • Exercise excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.  Shifts last from 2-3 hours before first pitch until 45-90 minutes after the final out for both home and away games.
  • Photoshop experience and general knowledge.
  • Extensive knowledge of baseball and the league.
  • Prior experience handling a brand or team social account is a plus.
