The Sr. Director Market Insights is an experienced marketplace leader, part of a best-in-class, outside-in focused team identifying key trends and market perceptions, sharing insights, showcasing thought leadership, and evangelizing Sabre across the industry. 

This team is the source of data-driven market and competitive truths and recommendations for both internal stakeholders as well as with external constituents. They will support consistent inbound and outbound market research activities with primary focus on Sabre’s customer base and the overall multi-source content sector. 

The role has three key purposes:

  • Stay continuously up-to-date on market trends, agency, supplier and consumer behaviour, trending sales channel developments and travel technology initiatives.
  • Establish a baseline for market perception of the Sabre brand, followed by quarterly pulse updates, communicating movement to stakeholders with cadence to inform strategy.
  • Own deliverables; distill insights into actionable ideas and recommendations. Translate insights into consumable publications for effective business decision-making (innovation initiatives, messaging, benchmarking, etc).

Main Accountabilities:

Outbound activities

  • Represent Sabre at selected industry and customer events, gathering and documenting market insights and representing Sabre on panels or industry speaking opportunities.
  • Ability to scale impact assessments across the business, thinking holistically about the industry and Sabre’s customer base.

Inbound activities

  • Collate and track market insights provided by Sabre staff and customers across all Sabre user types 
  • Market assessment; where is it now and where it’s headed in 5 years, trends, market size, change drivers, competition; new entrants and systemizing feedback to inform Sabre’s ongoing marketing, commercial and product strategies.

What we are looking for:

  • 15+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research in a dedicated market research role
  • Experience using secondary research to develop understanding and analysis of potential future trends
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to inspire teams and customers.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a high tolerance for ambiguity and complexity
  • Strong prioritization skills with the ability to drive multiple concurrent projects from beginning to end
  • Ability to collaborate, network and communicate effectively at all levels and influence without direct management oversight.
  • Experience using online survey tools (preferably Qualtrics) including designing, programming and distributing surveys; managing feedback to support journey-based approach to CX design.
  • Ability to utilize data and metrics to storytell insights to internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Microsoft Excel skills with experience of data manipulation, pivot tables.
  • Understanding of Travel Commerce and sound awareness of the external industry environment preferred.
