POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Sr. Project Manager with experience in HVAC system construction and operation and capital project management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for capital project funding approvals, design firm, budgeting/scheduling, managing projects through execution. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with design, engineering, construction and facilities teams, as well as the ability to work effectively with existing stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead large capital projects from pre-construction activities through execution, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Develop and manage capital budgets for HVAC projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Bring on and manage a design team to develop project plans and specifications.
  • Oversee the execution of HVAC projects, including shutdown and startup sequencing, to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
  • Process Construction Manager (CM) and commissioning RFPs, ensuring comprehensive and competitive proposals.
  • Provide technical expertise on HVAC equipment, building automation, and controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering and facilities teams to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems.
  • Work closely with existing stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure their needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project documentation, including budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project management processes and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Technical Experience:

  • 7-15 years of experience in HVAC installation, pre-construction, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, building automation, and controls.
  • Experience with capital budgeting and financial management.
  • Proven experience in bringing on and managing design teams.
  • Technical expertise in shutdown and startup sequencing for HVAC systems.
  • Experience processing CM and commissioning RFPs.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

COMPENSATION:

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
