Responsibilities

  • Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of Windows Server instances across cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS.
  • Manage, upgrade, and support Windows Server environments, including system upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in a cloud environment.
  • Implement and enforce security policies and practices to safeguard cloud-based Windows systems, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline operations, improve efficiency and reporting.
  • Monitor cloud resources and system performance to ensure optimal operation and cost-efficiency. Analyze and resolve performance issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage user access and permissions in cloud environments, utilizing tools such as Microsoft Entra ID or equivalent.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitor and track system back-ups and replication of servers and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain UPS units to ensure they are working properly.
  • Work with management and users to establish requirements for new systems, modifications, and parameter changes.
  • Provide rotating weekend support to users experiencing system problems.
  • Act as escalation point for user requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience managing a large server environment and desktop operations.
  • Knowledge of networks, server and desktop operating systems, virtual environments and M365 administration is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of networks, server and server operating systems, virtual systems and setup and configuration.
  • Experience with Active Directory setup and management in a hybrid environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, customer focused, good communication skills, able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to be flexible and adapt to changes in priorities and workflow.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Possess good project management skills and able to handle concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and products quickly.
  • High quality standards to provide excellent customer service.

  • Microsoft 365 (Office apps, Teams, Exchange)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Support (Active Directory, Domain Controllers, Group Policy, DFS)
  • Microsoft Intune (MDM, MAM, Application deployment and patching)
  • Microsoft Entra ID (Conditional Access, Hybrid identity, Single Sign-on)
  • AWS (EC2, S3, AWS Backup)
  • Small office networking (Meraki, VPN, Switches, Firewalls)

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position with rotating on-call support, occasional night, and weekend work
  • Hybrid schedule, 2-3 days onsite.
  • Ability to crawl under workspaces to access computer equipment.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds (computer equipment/servers).
