Geode Capital Management is a systematic asset manager that currently manages over $1 trillion AUM and provides core beta exposures across a range of equity and niche asset classes. Geode uses a team-based approach across each of the firm’s investment disciplines, emphasizing a repeatable, risk-managed, and collaborative investment process.

Geode is seeking to hire a Trader primarily focused on trading instruments that span asset classes including: commodities, fx, futures, options, equities, swaps, treasuries and hybrids.

The ideal background will include at least five years of trading experience in Program Trading across commodities, fx, futures, options, equities, ETF’s, swaps, fixed income and hybrids. The targeted candidate will possess a strong degree of comfort with complex trading strategies involving single, multiple or cross assets consisting of otc and/or listed instruments. Candidate should also be experienced users of algorithmic, dark pool and automated trading strategies, tools and platforms.

This is a hybrid work environment with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with remote work availability on most Mondays and Fridays. This is predominantly a US hours trading role but occasional evening and holiday trading may be required.

Responsibilities: 

• Interact with Portfolio Managers on a daily basis to optimize trade execution for a variety of passive and quantitative investment strategies
• Responsible for the execution of daily trades and strategy development for derivatives trading in existing portfolios

Skills You Bring: 

• Five plus years of experience in a similar trading role and a bachelor’s degree preferably (mathematics, economics, finance, computer science)
• Trade execution experience in the instruments mentioned above
• Trade execution experience with Listed instruments, Program Trading and complex orders
• Prior experience with and knowledge of Commodities futures trading preferred
• Understanding of primary drivers of security returns such as duration, delta, beta etc. and its use in trading the particular instrument or security
• Direct, hands-on experience with OMS workflow and front-office operations is expected
• Direct experience with Charles River is preferred
• Familiarity with Transaction cost analysis tools and methods
• Ability to thrive in a team based high volume environment
• Strong understanding of buy-side operation; comprehension of compliance responsibilities; proficient with technology such as spreadsheets and data manipulations
• Enjoys working in a collegial environment & thrives in an intense & dynamic organization
• Other qualifications include: ability to manage sell side relationships, good understanding of buy-side operation, strong problem solving skills and team oriented
