Primary Purpose

Responsible for creating compelling web and mobile experiences for users of Bright Horizons services. Draws on results from user research and knowledge of modern design standards. Uses strong creative, technical and problem- solving skills to provide solution-oriented recommendations based on the results. Areas of focus may include web and mobile interaction design, web and mobile visual design, content, controls and development, information architecture, user research, branding and customer/technical support.

This is a remote position available in the United States.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders as well as external clients to collectively build and improve the user experience.
  • Deliver highly functional, user-focused designs, wireframes, prototypes and annotations.
  • Create UX solutions that satisfy business strategies and user needs.
  • Work cross platform: iOS, Android, Web, Mobile Web, Tablet, etc.
  • Work with Product Managers to conduct user research, facilitate user testing and provide solution-oriented recommendations based on the results.
  • Stay current with in the rapidly evolving arena of web/mobile design trends and standards
  • Provide detailed specifications of design solutions to be consumed by development teams.
  • Participate in reviewing development work to make sure all user experience specifications and designs are implemented properly

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience required - Interaction or UX designer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with responsive design methods and development of design iterations.
  • Experience designing mobile and desktop applications with creative use of technology.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and written, and an ability to build great relationships across the organization.
  • The drive and ability to learn quickly about our domain and our complex technology.
  • Experience with designs that satisfy ADA requirements.
  • The ability to clearly articulate design decisions.
  • Strong visual design sense, with a clear command of interaction design, and usability.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, especially in the area of flexibility and interaction is a plus.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position is between $90,000-$95,000. The pay range listed here is what Bright Horizons in good faith anticipates offering for this job opening. Actual compensation offers within this range will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education and training, certifications, geography, and other relevant business or organizational factors.

Also, depending on hire date and subject to applicable eligibility requirements and accrual schedules, new employees in this role receive up to: 9 paid holidays annually; 40 hours of sick time per year based on full-time schedule, and 80 hours of vacation time per year based on full-time schedule (vacation time may be used for sick leave purposes under any applicable state or local sick or safe time law).
