This position is fully remote. All applicants must live and work in the United States.

You’ve built and led high-performing sales and account management teams that drive millions in revenue. You’ve grown digital agency businesses, working closely with marketing, channel partners, and client services to scale predictable revenue. You’ve built relationships with enterprise clients and helped close six- and seven-figure deals by aligning sales strategy with business needs. You know how to balance short-term wins with long-term growth, and you thrive in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.

Now, you’re ready to do it all again—this time, as the first-ever VP of Growth at Third and Grove.

Third and Grove is a fast-growing, award-winning digital agency capitalizing on Shopify’s move upmarket. Ecommerce platforms are undergoing a seismic shift—legacy providers like Adobe Commerce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud are losing market share as Shopify’s rapid innovation and ecosystem-driven growth fuel platform adoption and migrations.

As a longtime Shopify partner with renewed momentum in the space, TAG is strategically positioning itself to ride this wave of change. That, coupled with our leadership in enterprise CMS work, is a strong foundation on which to continue to growth the agency.

You will lead a team including external sales, channel, marketing, and account management. You will report to the CEO. This role is revenue-focused, and you will work closely with our Delivery team who is accountable for retention and client and satisfaction. You will have influence over our broader GTM strategy on how we position TAG to prospects and future clients.

What You’ll Do:

Own revenue growth. Lead all sales and revenue operations, including new business, account expansion, and channel partnerships.

Lead the team. Manage a team of four Account Managers, a Channel Manager, and an External Salesperson, providing leadership, coaching, and accountability.

Win new business. Oversee the external sales function, responding to RFPs and large enterprise opportunities with a structured, consultative approach.

Grow key accounts. Work closely with Account Managers to expand revenue from existing clients, ensuring long-term strategic partnerships.

Define and execute our channel strategy. Establish partnerships that drive new revenue opportunities.

Lead marketing. Align marketing efforts with sales to generate pipeline and accelerate deal velocity.

Forecast revenue. Maintain a clear, data-driven view of pipeline, forecasting, and resourcing needs for executive leadership.

Optimize the sales engine. Ensure pipeline hygiene, CRM discipline, and repeatable processes that scale.

Collaborate with agency leadership. Work with our executive team to define go-to-market (GTM) strategy and agency growth goals.

What You Bring:

Proven revenue leadership. Experience leading sales, account management, and channel teams in a digital agency, consulting firm, or technology services company.

CMS and eCommerce expertise. Direct experience selling Shopify, enterprise CMS, or composable digital solutions.

Strategic sales leadership. You’ve built sales teams, driven process improvements, and created scalable revenue operations.

Strong client relationships. You know how to connect with executives, uncover business needs, and win high-value deals.

Experience working with marketing. You’ve collaborated closely with marketing teams and understand how to integrate sales and marketing efforts for better pipeline performance.

Channel and partnership management. You’ve worked with technology and service partners to drive indirect revenue growth.

Team leadership. Experience leading sales and account management teams without an individual quota, focusing on team success and overall revenue growth.

Ability to navigate a complex sales cycle. You’ve successfully closed large, multi-stakeholder deals ($500K+).

Compensation:

Competitive package including base salary and team performance incentive.

Target start date:

May 2025

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
