At Wistia, video is the heartbeat of our company. We harness the power of video to tell the story of our products, educate and inspire our customers, build our brand, and even to communicate internally. Our mission is to empower every business to make a significant impact through video, and our own video content is central to achieving this goal.

As our video team continues to grow, we're on the lookout for a passionate and creative Video Producer! If you thrive on every aspect of video production—from brainstorming and conceptualizing ideas to lighting, shooting, directing talent, and mastering the art of post-production—this is your dream role.

In this role, you'll be responsible for planning shoots and bringing scripts to life through the production process—all while meeting the requirements of key stakeholders across the business. You’ll work closely with other folks on the Content & Creative team to produce a range of video content: in-app tutorials, product videos, customer testimonials, videos for social media, videos about making videos, blog content, and more!

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce awesome videos. From pre-production all the way through post-production, you'll be responsible for guiding Wistia videos from script to a final product. That means you’ll manage production schedules, help cast videos, wrangle props, light sets, run camera and sound, help direct talent, and edit your video projects.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business. You'll be responsible for understanding our business goals and working cross-functionally to achieve them from a video perspective. You’ll participate in creative briefings and provide status updates on various media assets to ensure your video projects are on track and on message.
  • Deliver creative, on-brand assets. Work with the Content & Creative team to maintain the quality—and push the boundaries—of the Wistia brand with video across all of our content channels.

Qualifications

The best candidates will have:

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated professional filmmaking, and video production experience,
  • A proven track record of delivering video content on time and on budget.
  • Technical understanding of key aspects of video production including a variety of cinema camera gear, lighting, framing, and sound.
  • Experience with directing folks on camera.
  • A deep knowledge of Adobe Premiere and excellent editing chops.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects is not required, but a plus.
  • A love for the medium. From personal to professional videos, your work should be an indicator that you have a passion for video.

Please submit with your application:

  • Your reel or other examples of your video work along with any supporting materials to illustrate your involvement
  • Two videos that have inspired your technique (can be links to YouTube videos, videos elsewhere on the internet)
  • Two of your favorite funny videos or scenes from films (can be links to YouTube videos, videos elsewhere on the internet)

Working at Wistia

We try to ensure Wistia is an inclusive and diverse place where everyone feels happy, fulfilled, respected, comfortable, and welcome. We're proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We know the biggest investment we can make is in our employees, so we provide:

  • A competitive compensation package that includes internal equity stock options
  • 401k with 3% company contribution, regardless of whether you contribute (Roth 401k available)
  • Fully paid healthcare, dental, and vision insurance (family plans included)
  • Pre-Tax FSA and Dependent Care Account
  • Flexible working hours – work at the times when you operate best, or set aside time for child and/or elderly care responsibilities during traditional “office hours”
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for all new and expecting parents
  • Unlimited PTO (pretty common for people to take 4+ weeks off throughout the year)
  • Remote-first culture (work from anywhere in the U.S.)
  • Annual professional development stipend (courses, conferences, and more)
  • New hire bonus to enhance your home office setup
  • Pet insurance discount

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
